key west bachelorette
May 2019

Oh Key West. The perfect girls getaway and a bachelorette location I would HIGHLY suggest.

I can't give vacation credit to Andrew this time, it was all my M.O.H. and best friend since first grade, Mandy, who planned this incredible weekend away.

We stayed at the Margaritaville Hotel and it was fantastic. Clean rooms, a gorgeous pool, and easy walking distance to downtown. What more could you want from a hotel? Plus if you're planning to be drinking, as one does on a bachelorette, how great is it that you can easily walk to and from.
The best part about Key West for a bachelorette in particular was that, unlike other popular bachelorette locations (e.g Nashville, Savannah, Vegas), it WASN'T inundated with other brides. I was treated like an absolute queen, not only by my amazing bridesmaids, but by the friendliest people all over.
At 'Irish Kevin's' on Duval Street, the lead singer of the cover band invited my bridesmaids and I up onto the stage. He introduced me as "this is my new friend Jamie and she's GETTING MARRIEEEDDDD!" and sang a song while we all danced along on stage. At 'Sloppy Joe's', the same thing. The lead singer asked for my future-husbands name and sang "Andrew's girl" in place of Jessie's Girl. It was a blast if you don't mind being the center of attention (that's what bachelorettes are for right?!). I just feel like because there weren't a hundred brides walking around, people went out of their way to make a big deal about it. The people of Key West really know how to make a girl feel special!

One other thing that we had a blast doing was called Reef and Ritas through a company called Fury. We took a catamaran out, went snorkeling in the warm, blue waters, and then they provided us with bottomless margaritas after snorkeling. The special bachelorette treatment came through again when at the end of the excursion they gave us a 2 liter bottle of leftover margaritas to take with us! Such a fun activity to do with a group.

Mandy had so many plans for us from scavenger hunts to beach yoga to the best place to watch the sunset, and we enjoyed all of those things! What I think makes this place great, though, is that even if we didn't have all of those plans that I'm sure Mandy slaved over (thank you Mandy), we would have had fun anyways because that's just the type of atmosphere it is. It's easy to have fun in Key West. I know I'm a little biased but we just had the best time and a truly unforgettable trip.

Thanks again to my bridesmaids Mandy, Carrie, and Kaitlyn for a wonderful time.
If ya'll see me in Key West in a few years pretending I'm a bride so I can relive this all again, mind ya biznesss 😉
